St. Xavier's School, Burdwan, established in February 1964, is an English-medium institution run by the Society of Jesus. The aim of the school is to impart a sound moral, intellectual, and physical education to the young. Great care is taken to form the character of the students and to train them to become well-rounded personalities—self-reliant, capable of taking initiative, and endowed with a spirit of leadership in service.

Catholic school is a learning community animated by the Divine Spirit of Love and Freedom, and living the values of the Gospel. It shares Christ's concern for the liberation and fullness of life for all people, especially for those in greatest need.
